2026/2027 Jean B. Cryor Memorial Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2026/2027 Jean B. Cryor Memorial Scholarship:
- The scholarship application is open to U.S. citizen or permanent resident students.
- The scholarship is open to high school graduating senior student, undergraduate or graduate student.
- The age requirements for applicants applying for the scholarship must be at least 16 years old.
- Applicants must have excellent academic performance and good grades.
- Applicants must be enrolled or plan to attend an accredited eligible institution as a full-time or part-time students studying an undergraduate, graduate, or professional program.
- Applicants enrolled in a private career school, or have a course work that is acceptable for transfer credit for an accredited baccalaureate program in a 2-year terminal certificate program, are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Applicants must qualify for one of the following conditions:
- Child or stepchild of U.S. Armed Forces members who died in service or have a 100% permanent service-connected disability.
- Surviving spouses of service members who have not remarried.
- Veterans who are ineligible for federal educational benefits with a service-connected disability of 25% or higher.
- Surviving spouses or children from the 11 September 2011.
- Children of MIA/POW from the Vietnam Conflict who reside in the state when declared missing.
- Children and surviving spouses of the local/state public safety employees who died or were 100% disabled in the line of duty.
- Volunteer or state/local public safety employee with a 100% disability in the line of duty.
- Children or surviving spouses of school employees injured or killed in the line of duty due to violence.
