The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Sasakawa Fellowship Fund for Japanese Language Education (SFFJLE) Undergraduate Scholarship:
- Applicants must be a citizen of New Zealand or a permanent resident.
- Applicants must be enrolled into an undergraduate degree at any New Zealand University to study Japanese language.
- Applicants must show proof of leadership experience.
2025/2026 Sasakawa Fellowship Fund for Japanese Language Education (SFFJLE) Undergraduate Scholarship Application process
In order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Sasakawa Fellowship Fund for Japanese Language Education (SFFJLE) Undergraduate Scholarship:
- Applicants must complete the scholarship application form.
- Applicants must provide evidence of their citizenship or New Zealand residency through birth certificate or passport.
- Applicants must provide a reference letter from their school principal or language Japanese teacher commenting on their leadership qualities and their commitment to Japanese language.
- Applicants must provide their study details on an offer of place from their tertiary institute.
- Applicants must provide their high school results.
