2026/2027 Tzu Chi Foundation Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2026/2027 Tzu Chi Foundation Scholarship:
- The scholarship application is open to U.S. citizen or permanent resident students in the United States.

- Continuing college student applicant’s must write a personal statement of 2 to 5 pages with details on their volunteer experience with Tzu Chi, future plans, reason for their financial need and how tou intend to use this educational scholarship, personal and academic achievement, and academic and career plans.
- Applicants applying as a high school students must provide these documents such as family complete 2024 1040 U.S. income tax return or family complete 2023 1040 U.S. income tax return or proof of financial hardship, official high school transcript, two letters of recommendation, two pages essay about Tzu Chi, personal writing, and completed scholarship application form before the deadline date.
- Applicants applying as continuing undergraduate students must provide these documents such as family complete 2024 1040 U.S. income tax return or family complete 2023 1040 U.S. income tax return or proof of financial hardship, personal writing, official college transcript, written and signed proof of completion of 50 volunteering hours with Tzu Chi from Tzu Chi local team leaders of youth mentors, and completed scholarship application form before the deadline date.
