2025/2026 China Scholarship Council Eligibility Criteria

The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 China Scholarship Council:

  • The scholarship application is open to international students who hold a Peoples Republic of China Passport or either permanently resident in China or studying overseas.
  • Applicants who are from Taiwan or Hong Kong are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
  • It is important for applicants to check eligibility rules on the China Scholarship Council website that include current 1st year PhD students and those in year ‘1’ of a 1+3 also have prior experience of studying overseas including the United Kingdom.
  • Applicants must hold an unconditional offer for a full-time PhD at the University of Warwick starting in October 2024 or currently enrolled in the first year of a PhD or MPhil/PhD at the university.
