2025 MEXT Scholarship for Nigerian Students Qualification
The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2025 MEXT Scholarship for Nigerian Students from the Embassy of Japan:
- Applicants who are interested in studying undergraduate degrees at the Japanese universities must be born on or after April 2, 2000.
- Applicants who are interested in conducting research on non-degree courses, Masters’, or PhD must be born or after April 2, 1990.
- Applicants who are interested in studying a specialized training such as culture, fashion, college for business must be born on or after April 2, 2000.
- Applicants who are interested in studying at colleges of technology or engineering must be born on or after April 2, 2000.
2025 MEXT Scholarship for Nigerian Students Application process
In order to be eligible for the 2025 MEXT Scholarship for Nigerian Students from the Embassy of Japan, applicants must follow these steps:
- Applicants who are submitting their scholarship application through email or online submission will not be accepted.
- Applicants are not required to submit their original personal documents such as diploma, birth certificate, etc as they will not be returned to them.
- Applicants are required to officially notarized all the photocopies of original documents.
- An authorized official is required to attest to the copy of the secondary school degree certificate or the university graduation certificate.
- Applicants application will be ineligible for screening if all the required documents such as degree certificate, academic transcript is not submitted.
- Qualified applicants will be contacted around mid-June.
- Applicants might not be able to travel to Japan or the selection process could be postponed if the scholarship recipients are chosen and there is curfews or travel restrictions.
- Applicants are required to follow the guidelines and instructions on the Embassy’s website for the scholarship application.
