2025/2026 Equity Scholarships Scheme University of Newcastle (ESSUN) Qualification
The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Equity Scholarships Scheme University of Newcastle (ESSUN):
- Applicants must enroll at the University of Newcastle for any undergraduate program.
- Appicants must be permanent residents of New Zealand or Australia or a citizen of Australia.
- Applicants must not hold any undergraduate degree award except in some case of partial completed combined degree honours and a Joint Medical Program in final year.
- Applicants must not hold any high value scholarship or equal concurrent scholarship, although qualified applicants can change to a higher value scholarship in the same year.
- Applicants that experience any of the following are eligible to apply for the scholarship such as Out-of-Home care or Refugee, First Nations Person attributes or living in Australia remotely, experiencing abuse, long term disability or medical conditions, or sole parent or career responsibilities.
- Applicant must be experiencing financial hardship.
Scholarship Benefits
- $500 acceptance fee as an early payment for the scholarship.
- $2250 based semester payment in April and September.
- Undergraduate students can renew the scholarship for the duration of a 5-year program with a maximum value of $25,000.
2025/2026 Equity Scholarships Scheme University of Newcastle (ESSUN) Application process
In order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Equity Scholarships Scheme University of Newcastle (ESSUN), applicants must submit all necessary documents in a PDF file maximum of 3 and must be smaller than 5 MB at the application portal. During the registration on the application portal, all the required documents will be listed on the ‘Your Documents’. A 1 A4 page personal statement detailing your academic achievements, how the scholarship can help, career aspiration in your area of study. On the individual application responses, applicants may be required to provide documents on their personal circumstances and educational challenges.
