2025/2026 Gertrude B. Elion Mentored Medical Student Research Award Eligibility Criteria
The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Gertrude B. Elion Mentored Medical Student Research Award:
- The scholarship application is open to U.S. students who are women in medical field.
- The scholarship does not required GPA, residency requirements, and high school restrictions.
- The scholarship award is for women in medical field who have completed at least one year of study at the University of North Carolin at Chapel Hill School of Medicine or Duke University Medical Center.
2025/2026 Gertrude B. Elion Mentored Medical Student Research Award Application process
In order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 George H. Hitchings New Investigator Award in Health Research, applicants should follow these steps:
- Applicants can apply for the scholarship application using the Foundation’s online application portal.
- Applicants are required to use the access code “Elion” to access the scholarship application by typing it into the upper right hand box.
- Applicants must use the following fonts type to apply for the scholarship singled spaced using 12 point font on standard 8.5 by 11 inch paper with one inch or larger margins on all sides.
- Applicants must ensure the number all their pages and organized their application in these format 1. Sponsor’s statement of nomination, 2.Candidate’s curriculum vitae maximum of 2 pages, 3. Research plan maximum of 3 pages, 4. Budget, 5. Letter of recommendation.
