The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 The Smith-Hutson Freshman Scholarship:
- The scholarship application is open to U.S. students who are resident of Texas.
- The scholarship is open to graduating from high school senior who are seeking bachelor’s degree.
- Applicants must have excellent academic performance and good grades with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Applicants are required to have a minimum of 30 semester credit per hours each year.
- Applicant are required to demonstrate their financial need, leadership skills, and academic achievement.
- Applicants must complete and submit the required file for FAFSA.
