2025/2026 Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme Qualification
The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology:
- Applicants must be the admission requirements for the scholarship.
- Applicants must have outstanding academic performance, good grades, strong leadership abilities, interpersonal skills, exceptional communication, a global outlook, international exposure, and potential and excellent research ability.
- Applicants applying to a doctoral degree program must have outstanding academic performance with good grades, obtain a bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution or provide proof of satisfactory work at the postgraduate level either on at least a 2-year part-time basis or at least 1 year full-time basis.
- Applicants must meet one of the English Language requirements such as TOEFL-80 internet based test, TOEFL-550 paper based test, TOEFL-60 revised paper delivered test, and IELTS overall score 6.5 and all sub-score 5.5.
- Applicants who first language is English or obtain their bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from a reputable institution where the medium of instruction was English.
2025/2026 Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme Application process
In order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology:
Applicants will be required to provide a form of identity documents such as Social Security Card/Passport, Mainland ID Card/EEP/Passport, Hong Kong ID card, and Visa label/Notification Slip for Entry Visa/Permit.
Applicants must provide their degree certificates of academic qualifications and official transcripts.
Applicants must show their institution grading system.
Applicants must provide proof of English proficiency for those whose first language is not English.
Applicants must provide public exam score reports.
For applicants applying to a Research Postgraduate Programs, they must provide their past research experience and proposed research plan.
Applicants must provide academic references to support their application, 2–5 references and must complete a reference report online through an invitation by email.
