2025/2026 Commonwealth PhD Scholarships (for least developed countries and fragile states) Qualification
The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Commonwealth PhD Scholarships (for least developed countries and fragile states):
- Applicants must have been granted refugee status or a citizen of one of the eligible commonwealth country or be a British-Protected Person.
- Applicants must come from one of the eligible Commonwealth country and a permanent resident.
- By the start of the UK academic year in September 2025, applicants must be available to start their academic studies in the UK.
- Applicants must hold a first degree honours or (2:1) upper second-class honours or (2:2) a lower second-class degree and Master’s degree before September 2025.
- Before September 2025 either in their home country or at a UK university, applicants must not register for a PhD, or an MPhil leading to a PhD.
- Applicants must be unable to afford the study cost in the UK without this scholarship.
- Applicants will be required to provided all the necessary documents in the required format.
