2025/2026 Chevening Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Chevening Scholarship:
- The scholarship application is open to citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
- Applicants must have excellent academic performance and good grades.
- Applicants must return to their home country for at least 2 years after the end of the scholarship.
- It is essential for applicants to have an undergraduate degree that qualifies for a UK master’s programme.
- Candidates can apply for at least 3 different eligible courses at UK university and must at least receive an unconditional offer for one of the courses.
- Candidates are not eligible to apply for the scholarship if they hold British or dual British citizenship or hold refugee status in a country not eligible for Chevening.
- Applicants who are sponsoring UK universities or an employee, former employee, or relative of an employee of the UK government, British Embassies/High Commissions, the British Council are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
- Applicants who have previously studied in the UK on a UK government-funded scholarship are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
