Application for the 2025/2026 Think For Yourself Scholarship is open to U.S. students who are high school seniors in 12th grade or equivalent and are legal resident of one of the 50 states in the country including District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or Guam. The scholarship is sponsored by Let Grow to provide financial assistance to applicants who seek help to further their education at an accredited institution. This is a competitive scholarship with a limited number of 4 award and values of $8,000 given to the grand prize winner and $2,000 each given to three Runner-Ups of the 2025/2026 Think For Yourself Scholarship.

2025/2026 Think For Yourself Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Think For Yourself Scholarship:

  • The scholarship application is open to U.S. students who are high school seniors in 12th grade or equivalent.
  • Applicants must be at least 16 years or above when applying for the scholarship.
  • Applicants must be legal residents of one of the 50 states in the country including District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or Guam.
  • Applicants must have excellent academic performance and good grades.
  • Applicants must be attending or enrolling into an accredited institution such as trade school, community college, traditional university, online or vocational school program into a 2 or 4 year degree program no later than the fall of 2027.
  • Applicants who are members of their immediate families of related companies and agents of sponsors, directors, officers, current employees, and person residing at the same address are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.

2025/2026 Think For Yourself Scholarship Application process

In order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Think For Yourself Scholarship, applicants must follow these steps:

  • Applicants can apply for the scholarship through the online application provided here.
  • Multiple scholarship application is not be processed as one application is per person and only the first 5000 application will be accepted.
  • Applicants are advised not to use any other essay formats such as submission or expository because their essay will not be reviewed.
  • Applicants are advised not to use AI to generate content for their essay because if found, applicants will be disqualified.

Applicants must write an essay between 600 words and 800 words of their personal story or narrative written in English with the correct spelling and grammar on these topics:

  • “Write about a time you unexpectedly had to deal with an adult situation on your own. What independent skills or experiences did you draw from? What did you learn about yours?”
  • “What is your favorite memory from real life and favorite one from time online? How would you compare the experiences?”
  • “Write about a time someone changed your mind about an idea or belief you strongly held. How did this change occur, and what did you learn from the process? Is there anything you’ll do differently from now on?”
  • “Write about a time you didn’t speak up – or almost didn’t – for fear your idea might be unpopular. What did you learn from this, and would you do the same thing again?”
