Application for the 2025/2026 PGT Sanctuary Scholarships at Northumbria University is open to international and local students who are living in the UK at the time of the scholarship application and who wish to continue their postgraduate or Master’s degree. The scholarship is sponsored by Northumbria University to provide financial aid to applicants who seek help to further their education in one of the relevant study courses. This is a competitive scholarship with a limited number of 3 award and a value of £1,000 and full tuition fee given to qualified applicants for the duration of the 2025/2026 PGT Sanctuary Scholarships.

2025/2026 PGT Sanctuary Scholarships Qualification
The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 PGT Sanctuary Scholarships:
- Applicants must be a seeking asylum or spouse, civil partner or dependant of someone currently seeking asylum in the UK.
- Applicants will be required to provide details of their current immigration status.
- Applicants must receive an offer at Northumbria University on a full-time one-year Masters program, either a conditional or unconditional starting in September 2025.
- Applicants are required to meet the English Language requirements and the conditions of their study program.
- Applicants must be living in one of these locations before the start of their study program such as North Cumbria, Cleveland, Northumberland, County Durham, and Tyne and Wear.
- Due to the immigration status, applicants may be unable to access UK student finance.
- On the date of the asylum application registration, applicants must indicate their spouse or civil partner in the form.
2025/2026 PGT Sanctuary Scholarships Application process
In order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 PGT Sanctuary Scholarships, applicants must follow these steps:
- Applicants must go through the Guidance Notes before applying for the scholarship.
- The scholarship application is done through online written application form.
- Qualified applicants will be required to attend an interview in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
- Applicants must provide copies of all the required documents that are relevant to their current immigration status when attending the interview, such as Home Office letters.
- Notification will be done by the end of June after the interview panel have chosen the successful applicants.
