2025/2026 Betty Loughhead Soroptimist Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Betty Loughhead Soroptimist Scholarship:
- The scholarship application is open to women who are citizens of New Zealand living in the country.
- Applicants who hold student visa or New Zealand resident visa are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
- The age requirement for the scholarship is at least 25 years before 1 September.
- Applicants must be enrolled into an accredited NZQA education programme for a full-time or part-time study in either enter or re-enter the workforce or change occupation of at least 50% which must be undertaken in New Zealand.
- Applicants must have excellent academic performance, good grades, and must have completed at least one year of tertiary study.
- The scholarship application must be used the same year it was awarded to qualified applicants.
- Recipient of the scholarship must participate in Soroptimist promotional activities.
- Applicants who are enrolled in EdD (Doctor of Education), LLD (Doctor of Laws), PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) are excluded from applying for the scholarship.
