2025/2026 Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Scholarships Eligibility Criteria

The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Scholarships:

  • The scholarship application is open to U.S. students who are a child or step-child of one of the following, such as veteran, Reserve or Active duty U.S. Marine.
  • Applicants must have excellent academic performance and good grades of minimum GPA 2.0 or higher.
  • Applicants must provide details of their financial need through a family adjusted gross income of $123,000 or less for the 2023 tax year.
  • Applicants must be accepted or enrolled into an accredited school that is eligible for federal funding.
  • Applicants must provide all the necessary documents or items that are needed for the scholarship before the deadline date.
  • U.S. Marine, veteran, Reserve or Active duty U.S. Navy Corps man, Religious Program Specialist or Navy Chaplain who is or was attached to a U.S. Marine Corps unit or who was killed while serving with a U.S. Marine Corps unit or a Marine killed while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
  • It is essential the veteran is  honorable discharge.

Disqualification

  • Applicants with veteran or military parents who are not honorable discharge.
  • Applicants who has an undergraduate degree are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
  • An awarded scholar or applicant attending a Federal Service Academy are not eligible to apply.
  • An awarded scholar or applicant attending a school not eligible for federal funding or not listed on College Navigator.
  • Applicants whose biological parents are no longer married, but military stepparents are not eligible.
  • Before 1 August 2025, applicants who do not have a high school diploma are not eligible to apply.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Children of the fallen will receive $7,500 per year for 4 years.
  • Children of the wounded will receive between $2,500 to $10,000 per year for 4 years.
  • Applicants who are grandchildren must provide details and documents of the grandparent’s membership in one of the following association such as USMC/Combat Helicopter Association, Marine’s Memorial Association, and 531 Gray Ghost Squadron Association.
