2025/2026 Black Futures Scholarship at the University of Southampton Qualification
The following requirements must be met by the applicants in order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Black Futures Scholarship at the University of Southampton:
- Applicants will be required to pay the UK fees and must be residing in the UK.
- Applicants must be starting in the academic year 2025-2026 on a PhD project with the Faculty of Environmental and Life Science (FELS).
- Applicants must be starting in the academic year 2025-2026 on a PhD project with any faculty.
- Applicants from any of these backgrounds are eligible for the scholarship such as Black or Black British-African, Mixed-Black African, Black Caribbean or another Black background, Black or Black British-Caribbean, Mixed-White and Black African, Black or Black British-another Black background, Mixed-White and Black Caribbean.
2025/2026 Black Futures Scholarship at the University of Southampton Application process
In order to be eligible for the 2025/2026 Black Futures Scholarship at the University of Southampton:
- Applicants will be required to create their own proposal or identify a PhD project from their current projects.
- Applicants must choose a PhD project and apply online.
- Applicants must apply online for the Black Futures Scholarship Scheme.
- Applicants application deadlines will depend on when their project is due to start.
- Applicants must apply as soon as possible as the scholarship application can close earlier than the deadline due to limited availability.
- The scholarship selection will go through 3 stages of shortlisting process such as eligibility criteria, application review on research degree, academic qualifications, motivation, and the application is review by the Faculty selection panel review.
- The scholarship panel makes the final decision on the scholarship.
